About
About CruiseMigration
CruiseMigration is an independent project tracking the global migration of cruise ships, with a focus on Alaska’s seasonal fleet. We combine real-time AIS data, scraped itineraries from public sources, and editorial coverage of the ports, ships, and seasons to make cruise-ship deployment legible to anyone curious about it.
Who builds this
The site is built by Eric, with assistive AI from ClankBot. Eric does the engineering, decides what to track and what to write, and is responsible for everything that ships. ClankBot helps with research, drafting, and the unglamorous parts of editorial production. The line between the two is in the byline of every article: Eric owns the words, and the AI involvement is disclosed where material.
The site is operated by EricCorp Dev LLC. We are not affiliated with any cruise line, port authority, or booking platform. We don’t sell cruises, and we don’t take affiliate commission on bookings.
What you’ll find here
- Live tracking for the 2026 Alaska cruise fleet — every ship, every port, every itinerary, refreshed from AIS data on a cadence ranging from minutes to a few hours depending on the source.
- Port and ship pages with arrival/departure schedules and operational context.
- Itinerary tooling to compare routes, find unique sailings, and surface repositioning voyages.
- Editorial coverage (in progress) of the things that aren’t obvious from a tracker alone — why ships migrate seasonally, what the PVSA actually says about Victoria stops, which cruise lines hold Glacier Bay permits and why that matters, and how a 130-day world cruise wraps up in Alaska.
Sourcing and corrections
Where we cite a number — passenger counts, ship dimensions, port fees, schedule timings — we link to the primary source. Where we’re uncertain, we say so explicitly. If you spot an error, email hello@ericcorp.dev and we’ll either fix it or document why we disagree.
